This is GCs top of the range 25 Series RS preamplifier with the main preamplifier control unit housed separately from the matching outboard power supply unit. It has a low noise 12bh7a line stage and truly excellent MM phono stage. The pre was modified by GC to add a buffered output stage with an additional 12bh7/ECC99 valve so it can be used as a stand alone phono stage if desired. These phono models retailed at £2800.

The valve compliment (from left to right) is: 2 x ecc83/12ax7 (phono stage), 1x 12bh7a (output stage), 2x ecc83/12ax7 (power supply) and underneath them 2 x cv449/85A2 (voltage regulator),1x12bh7a for the output buffer stage that goes to ‘line out. 12bh7a and (ECC99 are compatible)

All is in excellent cosmetic and working condition and it of course sounds sublime. As any follower of Croft gear will know, these preamps are rare on the used market, especially in this condition. The preamp control unit comes in its original packaging (the box itself is in decent condition and all foam side, top and bottom inserts are present).
