Strider
Afternoon, I've made so many interconnects over the years I've lost count, working in pro-audio, recording and hifi have led me down rabbit holes of cables and terminations. I've bought some Mogami Neglex 2534 star quad cable (I've star quad for years with XLR) and wondering the best or recommended wiring configuration to make a pair of RCA/phono interconnects.

I was thinking:
1: White centre pin (sig) Blue (gnd) sheath not connected
2: White centre pin (sig)  Blue (gnd) sheath soldered at one end.
3: White centre pin (sig)  Blue (gnd) sheath soldered to both ends.

Presuming I go option 2 would using the sheath better at source or better at amplifier? My gut feeling is at source end to act as a drain and kill off RFI.

Using the sheath connected at both ends could cause an increase in capacitance and/or negate any RFI rejection.

Any input (no pun intended) welcome!
Hi-Fi shows. Where else can you hear breathy jazz covers of Slipknot.

Option 2 - at least that's what I did with my ph/amp to amp cable.

Sheath soldered end to amp, tho I could be very wrong about doing that.

Sommer cable carbokab - but I did the same with Mogami 2549.
Tried other cables - some expensive-ish - to me. Mine always came out on top, by a reasonable margin.

Have fun.
Knowingly annoying.
