Having recently returned from a second trip to Aldeburgh, I was so taken with the place I thought: “Why should I have all the fun, best share it with others!”
For those of you unaware of the cultural highlights of Snape Maltings - almost a stone’s throw from Aldeburgh, the place boasts regular classical, jazz concerts featuring some of the very best artists in the world; and sometimes something in between, such as The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain - a genuine highlight for me last year (see link below for a taster).
In addition to which, Snape Maltings has regular art exhibitions, displaying some (and admittedly, some not) of the very best contemporary art in the country - Harry Hill - he of the big collars is, I would suggest, an acquired taste, but I digress…
